Questions, answered

What is a CSMS?

A Charging Station Management System is the cloud backend your chargers connect to. It authorises drivers, starts and stops sessions, meters energy, bills, and gives your team a live view of the whole network.

Which OCPP and OCPI versions do you support?

OCPP 1.6J, 2.0.1 and 2.1 for chargers, and OCPI 2.2.1 for roaming, in both CPO and eMSP roles.

Will it work with our chargers?

Any OCPP charger connects, whatever the brand, and is managed fully remotely.

Can we move from our current CSMS?

Yes. OCPP chargers connect to whichever backend address they are given, so switching CSMS means re-pointing your chargers, not replacing them. We plan the move with you.

How do drivers pay?

They scan a QR and pay with UPI, with no app and no sign-up. Or they use your driver app, a wallet, an RFID card or a roaming partner's app.

Is it ready for India's charging rules?

The Ministry of Power's 2024 guidelines set standards for a connected and interoperable charging network. Open protocols are how a CSMS gets there: OCPP for chargers, OCPI for roaming. We build on both.

Do we build our own, or use yours?

Either. We build a CSMS tailored to your business, or you launch on ours under your brand and domain. In India you can also partner with us.

What does it cost?

A monthly engagement is $4,000 / month for up to 110 hours, hourly work is $40 / hour, and fixed-scope builds get a custom quote. For a white-label licence, talk to us.
